One dead and two seriously injured as three-vehicles collide in Chitwan

Chitwan: One person has died and two others sustain serious injury in a collision involving two trucks and a tanker in Tikauli forest, Ratnanagar municipality-9, along the East-West highway in Chitwan.

According to the District Police Office, the incident occurred at 11:20 pm on Tuesday.

A loaded truck, numbered Madhesh Pradesh 03-002 Kha 1439, was traveling from Tandi to Narayangadh when it collided with an empty tanker, with number plate 8 Kha 8674, heading in the opposite direction.

A third truck with number plate 6 Kha 4624, struck the tanker from behind.

Police have detained Deepak Rokka, the driver of the second truck, for questioning.

Spokesperson of District Police Office Chitwan Bheshraj Rijal informed that 26-year-old Anish Syangtan, the driver of the loaded truck from Makwanpurgadhi Rural Municipality-2, died shortly after the accident.

His body has been sent to Bharatpur Hospital, Chitwan.

The co-driver of the same truck, 23-year-old Ashish Syangtan from Hetauda sub-metropolitan city-2, sustained moderate injuries and is receiving treatment at Bharatpur Hospital.

The tanker driver, 36-year-old Sudip Tamang, is in serious condition and is being treated at Chitwan Medical College.
