Opposition party leaders to submit memoranda to the government on various issues of public concern

 

Kathmandu: The meeting of the leaders of opposition parties, including the main opposition party, CPN-Maoist Center, has agreed to submit a memorandum to the government on various issues of public concern.

Shakti Basnet, the leader of the CPN Maoist Center, informed that the meeting of the opposition parties held at the Federal Parliament Building, Newbaneshwor, concluded stressing that the government has not acted with seriousness and responsibility regarding the preparedness, search, rescue, treatment, and restoration of the people affected by flood landslides.

Leader Basnet said that the government was not accountable to the people and did not pay attention to addressing their problems.

Basnet further assured that if the government does not show seriousness in the issue of public concern and does not respond positively, there may be a situation where a special session may be called.

According to him, in the meeting, it was felt and reviewed that the government gave priority to the party and vested interests more than prior responsibilities of the citizens.

The main opposition parties leaders from, the CPN Maoist Center, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, CPN Unified Socialist Party, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party, and others were present in the meeting.
