Over 100 million rupees deposited into Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund on Sunday

Kathmandu: Over one hundred million rupees has been deposited into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund today alone to assist families affected by recent rain-induced disasters.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli received a check for 50 million rupees from Global IME Bank, IME Group, and their associated companies at the Office of the Prime Minister in Singha Durbar. The check was presented by Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Chairman of the IME Group.

In addition, Nepal Bank Limited contributed 20 million rupees to the fund. Dr. Chandra Bahadur Adhikari, Chairman of the Nepal Bank Board of Directors, handed over the check to Prime Minister Oli.

The Nepal Construction Entrepreneurs’ Development Council also contributed with a check of 10 million rupees. Laxman Paudel, Chairman of Nepal Insurance, presented 5 million rupees on behalf of the insurance company.

Manoj Goyal, Chairman of NMB Bank, donated 5.1 million rupees, and Nirmal Kaji Shrestha, Vice Chairman of Metlife Insurance, contributed 2.5 million rupees to the relief fund.

Meanwhile, political parties also joined in the effort, with both the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) depositing 5 million rupees each into the fund.

A delegation led by NC President  Sher Bahadur Deuba presented the check to Prime Minister Oli and submitted a 34-point proposal outlining measures to address the post-disaster situation, both temporarily and in the long term.

Similarly, a UML delegation, led by Senior Vice Chairperson Ishwor Pokhrel, visited Prime Minister Oli and handed over their contribution of 5 million rupees to the relief fund.

During the event, Prime Minister Oli expressed his gratitude to all organizations and political parties for their support, emphasizing that such contributions are invaluable during times of crisis. He called for continued solidarity from all sectors of society in addressing the national emergency.
