Government to declare disaster-hit local levels as crisis-ridden areas

Kathmandu: The Executive Committee of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has recommended government to declare nearly 4 dozens local levels hit hard by recent rain-induced disasters as crisis-ridden area.

National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority spokesperson Dr. Dijan Bhattarai informed that the recommendation was made at the meeting chaired by the Minister of Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak.

He added that the declaration of crisis-ridden area would help in expediting relief distribution and reconstruction.
