Tarahara in Sunsari, surrounding areas see heavy rainfall

Dharan (Sunsari): Tarahara in Sunsari and surrounding areas today experienced heavy rainfall. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, in the past three hours, heavy rain was measured in Tarahara and its surroundings.

Over the past three hours, 72.7 millimetres of rain was recorded in Tarahara and 52.4 mm in Kerabari of Moranng, said Rudra Bahadur Pariyar, the chief of Dharan-based Office of the Hydrology and Meteorology.

Heavy to moderate rain has been forecast in the eastern parts including Sunsari today and tomorrow and amidst this prediction, people residing in the low-lying areas are urged to remain vigilant to potential flood risks.

The Department has warned of possible seasonal flooding from several rivers including, the Sardu, Khardu, Sunsari, Budhi Khola and Khesaliya.
