Urdu translation of Nepali poetry “Nepal ki Awaaz” published

January 10, Kathmandu: The Pakistan Academy of Letters, Islamabad, has published a collection of translations of representative poems of prominent Nepali litterateurs in ‘Urdu’, the national language of Pakistan.

The collection titled “Nepal ki Awaaz” (Voice of Nepal) has 108 poems translated into the Urdu language including ‘Nepal’ by Dharanidhar Koirala, ‘Aba’ by Mahananda Sapkota, ‘Pinjara ko Suga’ by Lekhnath Poudyal, ‘Ama ko Sapana’ of Gopal Prasad Rimal, ‘Afro Parichaya’ of Siddhicharan Shrestha, ‘Dukha ko Katha’ of Bhawani Bhikchhu, ‘Changa’ of Kedar Man Byathit,  ‘Kali Gandaki’ of Madhav Prasad Ghimire, among others.

Zia-Ul-Mustafa, Syed Kashif Raza and Munir Fayyaz translated the poems. The Embassy of Nepal in Pakistan said the publication of creations of Nepali litterateurs in the national language of Pakistan would help expand the creations and identity of litterateurs as well as help exchange support between the two countries. The Nepali Embassy in Islamabad facilitated the translation and publication of Nepali poems.
