Government committed to addressing people’s issues: Minister Gurung

October 26, Kathmandu: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has assured that the current government is committed to resolving the problems faced by the people.

Speaking at a program organized by the  CPN (UML) Lamjung district committee in Besisahar municipality-8  on the occasion of Dashain, Tihar, Nepal Sambat, and Chhath on Saturday, Minister Gurung said that the government was working to provide relief to flood and landslide victims, cooperative fraud victims, farmers, businesspeople, construction entrepreneurs, and all other professionals.

Informing that the government has decided to provide Rs. 1 million to the severely affected local levels and Rs. 600,000 to those with moderate damage from floods and landslides, he said that the government will also make arrangements for temporary shelter.

Minister Gurung expressed his commitment to completing tasks such as resolving the problems of dairy farmers and making payments to construction entrepreneurs as a priority.

Minister Gurung stated that since the formation of the current government, they have been making every possible effort to improve the country’s economy, and Prime Minister KP Oli has placed special emphasis on expanding international relations and relations with neighbouring countries.

Minister Gurung also mentioned that the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and European banks were providing open-hearted cooperation to the country in the areas of environment, education, and health.

Minister Gurung further stated that all those involved in the cooperative fraud would be brought under investigation and that all those under police custody for investigation into the fraud charges would be prosecuted according to the law.
