On Air Station:

UN Special Coordinator Wennesland: Nightmare in Gaza Must Immediately End

Kathmandu: The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wennesland condemned the continuing brutal Israeli aggression on civilians in the Gaza Strip, warning about the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and urging an immediate end to the ongoing conflict.

‘I condemn the continuing attacks on civilians. This war must end,’ Wennesland declared, emphasizing the urgent need to protect non-combatants, halt further displacement of Palestinians, and secure the release of captives.

‘Humanitarian aid must be delivered unimpeded,’ Wennesland urged, calling on all parties to allow lifesaving assistance to reach those in need. Wennesland described the situation in northern Gaza as a “nightmare” marked by relentless Israeli airstrikes and deteriorating humanitarian conditions.

UN Special Coordinator Wennesland highlighted the devastation in Beit Lahia, where at least 87 Palestinians were reportedly killed overnight, with many more trapped under the rubble as the bombing intensified.

‘The nightmare in Gaza is intensifying. Horrifying scenes are unfolding in the northern Strip amidst conflict, relentless Israeli strikes and an ever-worsening humanitarian crisis… Nowhere is safe in Gaza,’ Wennesland said. The path ahead will require courage, political will and renewed dialogue, he stressed.
