Durga Bhawani idol immersion at Barun pond

Jaleshwor: The idol of Durga Bhawani made and set up at Durga Chowk of Jaleshwor municipality-2 in Mahottari district on the occasion of the Bada Dashain has been immersed in a local Barun pond.

According to the chair of the puja organizing committee, Shiva Chandra Chaudhary, the immersion of the idols of Shiva, Ganesha, Kartik, Matalaxmi and Mata Saraswati together with a colossus of Durga Bhawani was conducted in the Barun reservoir.

The idols were taken to the reservoir in separate vehicles after going through thoroughfares. Chairman Chaudhari informed that they had taken the help of the Ranabhim battalion of the Nepali Army considering the possible skirmishes in the course of immersion.

Pandit Lalit Jha and priest Ram Jivan Saha conducted special worship to all gods and goddesses including the Mata Durga before setting out a procession to the pond. The deities were worshipped for ten days during the Dashain festival.
