Mid Hill Highway resumes after three days’ of obstruction in Khotang

Khotang, Oct. 6: Different road sections along the Mid Hill Highway in Khotang district which were obstructed following the landslides occurred after the recent downpour resumed traffic movement from Sunday.

Several landslides had occurred in Halesi Tuwachung Municipality on Thursday night after the rain. The debris was cleared on Saturday to resume vehicular movement with the help of local residents and security personnel.

Spokesperson of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality Kamal Giri said two landslips were cleared along the Halesi-Jayaraghat section after the efforts for three days.

More than 1,000 passengers stranded along the road section have moved to their destinations after clearing the landslides, Giri said.
