Executive Director Lama calls for creative and active participation of employees’ unions during institution’s transitional period

Kathmandu: Radio Nepal’s Executive Director, Amar Dhoj Lama, has stressed the importance of active and creative participation from employees’ unions during the institution’s transitional phase.

He highlighted the need for unions to play a key role in shaping new regulations following the passage of the Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) Bill by both federal houses.

Speaking at an interaction with Radio Nepal officials and union representatives, Executive Director Lama encouraged unions to contribute constructive suggestions rather than being sidelined. He noted that, as a former union member himself, he valued the input of these groups.

The executive director urged union leaders to move away from traditional leadership practices and adopt more modern, efficient methods. He committed to providing management support if unions proposed action plans for training, skill development, and orientation programs.

The Executive Director also advised against focusing on minor issues, reminding unions of their important role in communicating management policies to the broader workforce. He called for a collective effort to make mutual benefits a common agenda and suggested that unions actively engage in discussions on the PSB bill.

Additionally, he invited the unions to participate in policy-making discussions, emphasizing that management considers them integral to the organization.

Deputy Executive Director Khagendra Khatri, Administration Division Head Badri Bishal Tandukar, and Finance Division Head Manoj Kumar Chaudhary were also present. Union leaders congratulated the newly appointed executive director and praised the management for organizing a joint meeting with the unions.
