HoR endorses Public Service Broadcasting Bill designed to merge Radio Nepal and Nepal Television

The PSB bill will come into effect on the 31st day after its authentication.

Kathmandu: The House of Representatives has endorsed the Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) Bill-2024 designed to merge Radio Nepal and Nepal Television.

Minister for Communication and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung proposed the PSB bill along with the report of the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee seeking its endorsement.

Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire announced the endorsement of the PSB bill by majority of the MPs.

The National Assembly had already passed the bill and sent it to the House of Representatives for deliberations and endorsement.

The PSB bill will come into effect on the 31st day after its authentication.

Radio Nepal and Nepal Television will be merged and transformed into a public service broadcaster after the President authenticates the bill.
