Foreign Minister Dr Deuba urges honorary consuls to drive Nepal’s economic growth and technological progress through diplomacy

July 23, Kathmandu: The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, has called upon the honorary consuls general serving in Nepal to contribute to the nation’s prosperity and technological advancement through economic diplomacy.

Speaking at the 17th annual general meeting of the Honorary Consular Corps Nepal—an organization of honorary consuls operating in Nepal—and on ‘Charter Day’ on Tuesday, Minister Dr Rana implored them to facilitate the import of prosperity, technology, knowledge, and investment from their representative countries.

She urged the consuls to extensively promote Nepal’s distinctive culture, tourism, and heritage on a global scale, emphasizing their vital role in attracting foreign tourists.

Minister Dr Rana appealed to them to convey Nepal’s steadfast dedication to peace, human rights, and democracy worldwide.

Furthermore, the Minister directed the consuls to strive for increased foreign investment in Nepal, citing the country’s stable political and business climate. The Corps represents the honorary consuls of 62 countries.
