Common political understanding essential: Former Chair of Cabinet Regmi

Kathmandu, July 6: Former Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Khilraj Regmi, has said common understanding among political parties is essential for country’s development and economic progress.

Releasing a book, ‘Sapana Ra Yatharthama America’, penned by a Nepali living in the US, Sanubabu Silwal, amidst a programme in the federal capital on Saturday, Regmi stressed the country warrants political accountability for national building where development is forwarded sustainably.

Education system should be made contextual and timely in order to ensure judiciousness, positive thoughts and creative works required for nation building, Regmi said, adding that the book had included stories of struggle, success and inspiration. It is worth reading, he added.

On the occasion, former ambassador Prof Dr Jayraj Acharya viewed the book was informative and insightful.

Prof Dr Surendra KC viewed aware youths should be active for nation building. The book has reflected well the reality of the US life, he added.

Political scientist Prof Purushottam Dahal commented that book had a vivid description on how youths crave for US destination and face struggle for achieving success.

Noted journalist Dev Prakash Tripathi suggested all Nepali youths to read the book.

Another noted journalist Tara Baral informed that there were various issues incorporated in the book like US society, migrant’s problems, rule of law, development and technology and employment opportunities.

Author Silwal said he had brought to light the stories of struggles and success in a migrant’s life through the book.
