HoR meeting: Discussion continues on contemporary issues

Kathmandu: Parliamentarians raised several contemporary issues in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives meeting.

Parliamentarians highlighted a case in Khotang district where a girl student was raped by her teacher. The parliamentarians demanded strict action against such teachers, including a lifetime ban from teaching.

Parliamentarians also expressed concerns about the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, stating that political workers were demoralizing health staff. Additionally, there were issues with delayed payments to construction workers despite completed projects.

Likewise, the parliamentarians urged the government to improve public school education, noting that over half of the students failed the secondary education examination (SEE). They called for government’s attention to address this issue seriously.

Furthermore, parliamentarians also emphasized the need to implement the BRI project for Nepal’s benefit, provide free treatment to those affected by natural disasters, and ensure the peace process is not used for political power struggles, which could harm the morale of the Nepali Army.
