‘We have special tradition to respect all’

Kathmandu, June 17: Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has extended his best wishes on the occasion of Bakra Eid (Eid Al-Adha).

In a message of best wishes on the occasion of Bakar Eid today, President Deuba said that the Islam community people have been celebrating the ‘Bakar-Eid’ as a holy festival and this has been enhancing religious tolerance and harmony in the Nepali society.

Nepal has its own unique specialty of diverse languages, religions, cultures and festivals since ancient times and we have our own unique tradition of respecting and recognizing everyone, the message reads.

President Deuba has expressed the belief that this festival would inspire everyone to bring peace, harmony and prosperity in the country. He expressed his best wishes for happiness, peace and prosperity to the entire Islam community with the belief that ‘Bakar Eid’ would be successful in imparting the message of unity among all castes and religions
