Radio Nepal and BBC enter into first variation agreement on Programme broadcasting

Kathmandu, June 3: Radio Broadcasting Service of Nepal (Radio Nepal) and The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) have entered into the first variation agreement relating to the broadcasting of programmes of the BBC on Radio Nepal: FM- Kathmandu.

During the first variation agreement exchange ceremony in Radio Nepal’s central Office at Singha Durbar, Kathmandu on Monday, both parties agreed to amend the annual fee including increment provisions as well.

The agreement was exchanged during the ceremony in the presence of Radio Nepal’s Executive Director Buddhi Bahadur K.C., Business Development Head of Asia and Middle East of BBC Khalid Abdalla, Senior Business Development Manager of BBC (Nepal Office) Ojaswi Dhungel and other Senior Officials of Radio Nepal.

The last agreement between Radio Nepal and BBC was in 2015.

“These types of assistance from BBC have marked remarkable milestones in income generation of Radio Nepal for which the national broadcasting office is grateful to BBC”, Executive Director of Radio Nepal Buddhi Bahadur K.C said.

Director K.C. added that in coming days Radio Nepal will further present a proposal to BBC regarding its relay broadcasting in major cities outside the Kathmandu Valley.
