Three distinguished persons honoured

Kathmandu, May 9: President Ramchandra Paudel today honoured three distinguished figures making special contribution to various sectors of Nepal.


President Paudel honoured Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal and senior ophthalmologist Dr Sanduk Ruit at a programme organized on the occasion of the National Conference of the Association of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ACAN).


Governor Adhikari has been feted for the contribution he has made to the country’s economy as the governor of the central bank.


Similarly, the FNCCI has been honoured for contributing to the development of entrepreneurship in the country starting his business career as a small entrepreneur and now becoming the highest tax-payer of the nation while Dr Ruit has been honoured in recognition of his contribution to the medical sector of Nepal, especially to the eye treatment sector, according to ACAN.


Discussions and debates on the country’s prosperity and economic development have also been organized in the conference. Economists, industrialists, bankers and policy makers of various sectors of Nepal are participating in the debate.
