May 8, Kathmandu: The Nepal-Swadeshi Summit 2024 concluded on Tuesday with a 35-point declaration aimed at boosting local industries and increasing domestic production.

Organized by the Confederation of Nepalese Industries, the summit focused on empowering local industries and promoting indigenous products.

The declaration, handed over to Finance Minister Barshaman Pun, includes recommendations to reform existing laws, ensure a smooth supply of raw materials, and establish a specialized financial institution for the industrial sector.

It also emphasizes the use of domestically made products by government agencies and the need for a separate Act to regulate the industrial sector.

The declaration calls for a review of trade agreements and urges political parties to unite on economic prosperity and industrial development agendas.
