Karnali CM Kandel wins vote of confidence

Surkhet: Karnali Province Chief Minister (CM) Yam Lal Kandel has secured a vote of confidence.

Nine province assembly members from CPN (UML), 13 from CPN (Maoist Centre), and 1 from the CPN (Unified Socialist) cast their votes in favor of Chief Minister Kandel’s confidence motion on Thursday.  

Twelve province assembly members from the Nepali Congress voted against Chief Minister Kandel while 1 member of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party remained neutral.

Outof 40 members in the provincial assembly, 36 members were present. Chief Minister Kandel was elected as the 4th Chief Minister of the Karnali Province on the 9th April.

Kandel received the vote of confidence on the 16th day of being elected as the Chief Minister.

Earlier, Raj Kumar Sharma from the CPN (Maoist Centre), Jeewan Bahadur Shahi from the Nepali Congress, and Mahendra Bahadur Shahi from the CPN (Maoist Centre) were the Chief Ministers of the Province.
