Nautami Baja handed over to the Dalit community


Lamjung: Nautami Baja (a group of nine traditional musical instruments) has been handed over to the Dalit community of the Lamjung district to protect traditional culture.

Mayor Ramesh Kumar Pandey said Nautai Baja was handed over to the Dalit community of Madhyanepal municipality-10 to maintain unity among cultural diversity in the municipality.

Mayor Pandey said the municipality handed over Naumati Baja, which is on the verge of disappearance, to the Dalit community to protect it as well as launched a skill-oriented training for them. Along with the protection of the traditional culture of the Dalit community, it would also help in income generation, he added.

Meanwhile, a two-day free dental camp organised at Sundarbazar concluded. A total of 217 people benefited from the dental camp, said the Chairperson of Sundarbazar Hospital Management Committee, Bishnu Kumar Shrestha.

Sundarbazar Hospital organised the camp with the support of Sundarbazar municipality-7. There was technical support from Dhulikhel Hospital in the camp.
