ACC Premiere Cup: Victory over Hong Kong takes Nepal to semifinal

Kathmandu: Nepal has reached the semifinals of the ACC Premiere Cup.

Nepal registers victory over Hong Kong by 8 wickets at Al Amerat Cricket Ground on Monday. Nepal reaches the semifinal with still one match remaining in the group stage.

Nepal succeeded in chasing the target of 115 runs in 12.2 overs with a loss of 2 wickets.

Asif Sheikh scored 40 runs and Kushal Bhurtel 32 runs for the team. Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel and Sundeep Jora were unbeaten in 25 and 19 runs respectively.

Ehsaan Khan and Yasim Murtaza took 1 wicket each for Hong Kong.

In the first innings, Hong Kong was packed up in 17.5 overs. Hong Kong scored 114 runs. Anshuman Rath scored 34 and Zeeshan Ali scored 14 runs for the team.

Abinash Bohora took 3 wickets for Nepal. Lalit Rajbanshi and Dipendra Singh Airee took 2 wickets each. And Karan KC took 1 wicket for the team.

This is the third victory for Nepal in a row. Nepal defeated Malaysia by 5 wickets in the first match. Nepal won the match against Qatar by 32 runs.

Nepal is at the top of the point table with 6 points. Now, Nepal will play its next match against Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
