Holi being celebrated in Terai-Madhesh region today

March 25, Kathmandu: The festival of colours, Holi, is being celebrated in Terai Madhesh region on Monday with great enthusiasm.

Holi (Fagu Purnima) is celebrated in the Tarai districts on the following day after it is celebrated in the mountainous and hilly districts .

The government has declared a public holiday on Monday to celebrate the Holi festival in Terai-Madhesh. Holi is being celebrated in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West), Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Saptari, Siraha, Udayapur, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali and Kanchanpur districts.

Holi is celebrated as a festival of joy and colour.
