Vote counting under proportional category of November 20 elections completes

Kathmandu: The vote counting under the proportional category of the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and province assembly concluded on Tuesday.

Election Commission Secretary and Chief Returning Officer for the proportional election system Gokarna Mani Duwadi says over 10 million 5 hundred 60 thousand were counted.

Chief Returning officer Duwadi said a total of 17 million 9 hundred 88 thousand 5 hundred and 70 voters were eligible to cast their votes. Of them, the voter turnout remained at 61 per cent.

As per the updated data, the CPN UML stood first in the vote tally followed by the Nepali congress.

The UML has garnered 2 million 8 hundred 54 thousand 6 hundred and 41 votes.

The Nepali Congress is in the second position with 2 million 7 hundred 15 thousand 2 hundred 25 votes.

Likewise, the CPN (Maoist Centre) is in third place in the proportional category vote tally with 1 million 1 hundred 65 thousand 6 hundred and 84 votes.

Similarly, the Rashtriya Swatantra Party is in fourth place with 1 million 1 hundred 30 thousand 3 hundred and 44 votes.

The Rashtriya Prajatantra Party has received 5 hundred 88 thousand  8 hundred and 49 votes.

Likewise, the Janata Samajbadi  Party has got 4 hundred 21 thousand 3 hundred and 13 votes followed by the Janamat party with 3 hundred 94 thousand 6 hundred and 55 votes.
