Rain-induced disasters’ death toll reaches 161

Kathmandu: The number of people killed, due to recent rain-induced disasters including floods and landslides,  has reached 161.

According to the Spokesperson of the Nepal Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki, a total of 107 people were injured in the landslides.

Similarly, the Home Ministry said 50 people are still missing due to the floods and landslides and their search operation is going on.

The home ministry said that 3 thousand 6 hundred and 62 people have been rescued so far and all mechanisms have been mobilized to clear the obstructed highways.

Meanwhile, 3 hundred and 22 houses have been destroyed and 16 bridges have been washed away as per the ministry.
