HoR’s Industry and Commerce Committee discusses Electronic Business Bill 2080

The meeting of the Industry, Commerce, Labor and Consumer Welfare Committee of the House of Representatives has discussed with the MPs who amended the Electronic Business Bill 2080.


In the discussion held at Singhadurbar, the parliamentarians who amended the Electronic Business Act 2080 said that the bill should be made to encourage small and medium businesses and a visionary law should be made to prevent business losses by using human resource experts in IT sector.


The parliamentarians said that online business is increasing while shops have been shutting down due to a downfall in business. The parliamentarians urged that the bill must be passed and implemented as soon as possible to bring such businesses under the taxation boundary.


While discussing the clauses of the bill, the MPs drew the attention of the committee that the law should not be made which might be considered burdensome by the current generation and the bill should be amended by looking at the prevailing practice in the world market.
