Nepal Rastra Bank’s first governor Himalaya Shumsher Rana passed away at the age of 95

January 5, Kathmandu: The first governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Himalaya Shamsher Rana has passed away on Sunday morning.

His son Amar Shamsher informed he passed away at 6:30 am at his own residence at the age of 95 .

Rana had also been undergoing treatment at Norvic Hospital.

Rana had also served as the first Finance Secretary of the Nepal Government.

Late Rana was survived with two sons and two daughters.

Rana was also the founder of Himalayan Bank.

Rana’s role in modernizing economic institutions in Nepal is highly commendable.
