Foreign Affairs Minister Paudyal embarking on visit to Sri Lanka

February 1, Kathmandu: The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Bimala Rai Paudyal, is leaving for Sri Lanka on Thursday to participate in the 75th Sri Lankan Independence Day celebrations taking place in the capital Colombo on February 3 and 4.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, Minister Paudyal is visiting Sri Lanka at the invitation of Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka Ali Sabry.

During her visit to Sri Lanka, Minister Paudyal is scheduled to meet with her counterpart Sabry and attend a cultural festival to be organized by the Presidential Secretariat in Independence Square on February 3.

The Foreign Affairs Minister will attend the 75th Independence Day Celebration functions to be organized at Galle Face Green.

During her visit, Minister Paudyal will also pay courtesy calls to the President of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe, and Prime Minister Dinesh Chandra Rupasinghe Gunawardena.

She will also attend the reception hosted by President Wickremesinghe at the President’s House on 4th February.

The Foreign Affairs Minister is scheduled to return home on the 5th of February.
