January 27, Kathmandu: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, has appreciated the role the tourist police played despite limited resources.

Addressing a programme organized on the occasion of the 44th Tourist Police Day on Thursday, Minister Kirati said tourist police played an important role to ensure the security of the tourists though there was a dearth of resources for them.

“All sides concerned should work together to create an environment favourable to tourists and develop tourism,” Minister said, adding that the creation of tourism infrastructures is equally important.

On the occasion, Minister of State for Tourism, Sushila Sirpali Thakuri, viewed proper work plans and policies were required for effective service and security to tourists.
