Acharya dies after self-immolation

January 25, Kathmandu: Prem Prasad Acharya, who self-immolated in Baneshwar on Tuesday, has died in course of receiving treatment at Kirtipur Hospital.

36-year-old Prem Prasad Acharya of Ilam district tried to commit suicide by setting himself on fire, police said.

The spokesperson of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Superintendent of Police Sitaram Rijal, shared that the motive behind the incident was yet to be known and the investigation was ongoing.
