Increase in purchasing power needed to enhance livelihood: Minister Bhusal
September 12, Kathmandu: The Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Pampha Bhusal, has stressed the need for increasing people’s purchasing power for enhancing the quality of livelihood.
Addressing a programme organised to launch the Human Development Report prepared by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Kathamndu on Monday, Minister Bhusal said agriculture, tourism and energy were the major bases for building the country’s economy.
The UNDP has released this year’s human development report under the theme ‘ Uncertain Times, Unsettled Lives: Shaping our Future in a Transforming World.
As per the report, Nepal has dropped a spot down to the 143rd position in the latest development index.
