Kathmandu: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Debua discussed the citizenship bill during a meeting held at Sheetal Niwas on Monday.
President Bhandari had returned the citizenship bill endorsed by both chambers of the federal parliament with a message.
The Citizenship (First Amendment) Bill was endorsed by the House of Representatives without addressing the message sent by the president on the bill. However, the National Assembly has sent the bill to the parliamentary committee for discussion.
President Bhandari’s Personal secretary Bhesh Raj Adhikari said during the meeting, President Bhandari inquired about the citizenship bill and the government’s works.
The meeting was also attended by Communication and Information Technology Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Nepali Congress Vice President Dhanaraj Gurung and Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa.
