Everest region witnesses an increasing number of offseason international tourist arrival

Kathmandu: The number of off-season tourists in the Everest region has remained high this year.

The Sagarmatha National Park Office at Namche said last year, the number of off-season international tourists was 2 to 3 per day. However, this year about 12 to 14 international tourists have been entering the Khumbu region each day.

Nepal Civil Aviation Authority Lukla Office Chief Dwarika Achhami also said the airport has seen about three flights each day and helicopters have been carrying out about two dozen flights each day.
