Tourism Minister Shrestha lays emphasis on preserving culture and heritage

August 14, Kathmandu: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeewan Ram Shrestha stressed the need to promote the culture and heritage as the identity markers of the country.

At a Gaijatra and Ropain Jatra programme and prize distribution ceremony in Kathmandu yesterday, Minister Shrestha expressed his confidence that the culture, festival, and processions of the country would help establish Nepal’s identity at an international arena and attract foreign tourists.

It is tourism that propels the country’s dream of prosperity, he said, adding, that blending nature, culture and adventure was must for tourism promotion in the country.
