Election Commission unveils election calendar for upcoming federal and provincial elections

Kathmandu: Election Commission has unveiled the election calendar for the upcoming election of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly.

As per the schedule published by the commission today, the nomination of the first past post system of both federal and provincial level elections will be called on the 9^th of October.

Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said the commission had approved the election calendar on Sunday itself.

However, the commission has said the election schedule might see some changes later.

As per the current schedule, the final name list of the eligible candidates will be published on the 12^th of October.

In the proportional representation system, the parties will have to submit the close list of the candidates on the 18^th and 19^th of September.
