June 6, Kathmandu: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has started the process of sending back Nepali students, studying in China, who had come home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ministry, in a press statement on Monday, shared that process to take back Nepalis students studying in various universities in the People’s Republic of China who had flown to Nepal during the pandemic had started.
In the first round, 281 such students would be returned to China for the continuation of their studies. The details of those students could be found on the Ministry’s website, according to the Ministry.
The Ministry has also called for applications from the enlisted students for returning back to China.
The Ministry made the decision to facilitate Nepali students to return to China after the recommendation of a task force formed by the Ministry.
Meanwhile, direct flights between Nepal and China have resumed – with a direct flight to Kunming on Monday after a long hiatus owing to COVID-19 risks, according to the Embassy of China in Nepal.
