Pre-budget discussions to start on May 18

Kathamndu: The date for discussions on the principles and priorities of the appropriation bill (except for the tax proposition) is scheduled for May 18 and 19.

In the meeting of the House of Representatives held on Tuesday, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma tabled a motion seeking parliamentary discussions on principles and priorities of appropriation bill (except for tax proposition) for the fiscal year 2079/080 BS.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota slated the date for May 18 and 19 for the discussions as proposed by Minister Sharma.

The House of Representatives will meet again at 1:00 pm on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, pre-budget discussions have been fixed for May 19 in the National Assembly.
