PM Deuba and Indian PM Modi address special ceremony in Lumbini

Lumbini: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a special ceremony organized to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Gautam Buddha.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba said Indian Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the birthplace of Buddha helped spread the historic importance of Lumbini to the globe.

Prime Minister Deuba also expressed his belief that Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Lumbini would also strengthen the Nepal India socio-cultural and religious ties.

Prime Minister Deuba also pledged to construct Nepal -India Buddhist Circuit that would link Lumbini to Boddha-gaya, Kushinagar and Sarnath. He said the circuit would be supportive to introduce the life of Gautam Buddha to all Buddhists across the world.

Prime Minister Duba also thanked the government of India for its support to Nepal during times of crisis like the earthquake and the Covid-19 pandemic.

Also addressing the Special Ceremony Indian Prime Minister Modi said an opportunity visit to Maya Devi Temple in the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha would be an unforgettable moment for him.

Indian Prime Minister Modi further said Nepal and India should jointly lead the world to the path of peace by spreading the message of Lord Gautam Buddha.

The Indian Prime Minister also pledged to cooperate with Nepal to preserve the age-long Nepal India cultural ties.

Likewise, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bhadur Ale said Indian Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Lumbini would spread the message of Gautam Buddha to the world.

Minister Ale further said the operation of Gautam Buddha International Airport would ease the international religious tourists.
