December 22, Kathmandu: The first meeting of the task force formed by the ruling collation to reach a conclusion on the United States support project, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) took place on Wednesday
The preliminary discussion began on the MCC compact at a meeting held at CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Jhalanath Khanal’s house in Dallu, Kathmandu.
“The preliminary discussion has advanced positively,” said task force member and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.
The parties of the ruling coalition had formed a three-member task force to discuss the provisions in the MCC with other political parties and reach a conclusion. The task force comprises leader Khanal, CPN (Maoist Center) leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Minister Karki.
The task force has been mandated to hold necessary discussions with other political parties on issues ranging from resuming the parliamentary procedure to advancing several agendas under consideration at the parliament.
