Nepal should learn from China to achieve prosperity (audio report)

December 21, Kathmandu: Nepal has urged China to work together to face the challenges brought by the twenty-first century.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the telecommunication company Huawei’s Seeds for Future program in Kathmandu on Monday, Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Devendra Paudel requested China to help develop Nepal’s information and communications (ICT) sector.

Minister Paudel said that Nepal should learn from China’s development in the ICT sector to realize prosperity through the optimum use of technology.

Also speaking during the program, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi said that Chinese President Xi Jinping had forwarded plans to help its neighbouring countries like Nepal to achieve the digitalization of the economy through the use of advanced technologies.

Ambassador Yanqi also thanked Huawei for bringing programs such as Seeds for Future, saying such programs would bolster the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

 Huawei’s global flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program Seeds for Future saw 19 undergraduate students take 8- day online ICT training.
