6 nominations registered for Nepali Congress’s Presidency; 7 for Vice-President; 6 for General Secretary
December 11, Kathmandu: Six leaders have registered their nominations for the post of president in the ongoing 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress.
Current Party President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, leaders Dr. Shekhar Koirala, Prakshaman Sigh, Bimalendra Nidhi, Kalyan Gurung, and Yubaraj Neupane are vying for the party’s presidency through this 14th General Convention.
Confirming the nominations, the party’s Central Election Committee coordinator Gopal Krishna Ghimire said seven nominations have been registered for the post of vice-presidency of the party.
Leasers Purna Bahadur Khadka, Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar, Dr. Chandra Bhandari, Dhanaraj Gurung, Sujata Koirala, Mahesh Acharya and Dibeshwori Shaha have nominated themselves for the post of vice president.
Likewise, leader Gagan Kumar Thapa, Pradeep Paudel, Bishow Prakash Sharma, Dr. Minendra Rijal, Dr. Praksha Sharan Mahat and Dr. Rajaram Kari have nominated themselves for the post of the party’s General Secretary.
Through this general convention, the Nepali Congress in electing 134 party office bearers including the party president, two vice presidents, two General Secretaries and 8 Joint-General Secretaries.
The party’s Election Committee will publish the final name list of the candidates by 12 noon tomorrow and the election will take place on 13th of December.
