Israel positive for providing more job opportunities for Nepali migrant workers

November 16, Kathmandu: Israel has expressed its readiness to create more employment opportunities for Nepali migrant workers.

At a meeting with Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha on Tuesday, Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Hanan Goder said that Israel was ready to provide jobs for the Nepalis in other professions other than as ‘care-givers’.

According to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, during the meeting Minister Shrestha requested Israeli Ambassador Goder to work towards creating employment opportunities for the Nepalis in other sectors as well.

Currently, there are around 12,000 Nepalis labourers working in Israel.

As per the labour pact signed between Nepal and Israel in 2020, Israel has provided work opportunities for 1,175 Nepalis workers as caregivers who are all set to fly Israel by completing the due process .

Nepal has been requesting the Israeli government to provide caregiver jobs to the remaining 425 on the roster.
