Nepal has potential to become a strong cricketing nation: Afridi

September 27, Kathmandu: Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi on Monday said cricket diplomacy would enhance the bilateral relations between Nepal and Pakistan.

Talking to sports journalists, Afridi stressed establishing cricket diplomacy between Nepal and Pakistan in the days to come, adding that cricket diplomacy was needed to connect the people of the two countries. 

Afridi said Nepal had the potential to evolve as a strong cricketing national.

He urged the Nepali government to pay special attention to the development of cricket in Nepal. 

Saying he would support the Nepali cricket national team as much as possible, Afridi said that he would take the Nepali cricket team to Pakistan to play cricket in the coming days.
