Govt reopens public transport on short, long routes

July 24, Kathmandu: The government has decided to resume public transport on short and long routes.

With this, all vehicles entering the Kathmandu Valley from outside are allowed by following the health safety protocols.

Earlier, only vehicles plying inside Kathmandu Valley and the vehicles entering the Valley from outside for specific purposes were allowed.

As per the Cabinet decision on July 19, the Kathmandu District Administration Office had asked transport entrepreneurs to manage accordingly.

The Kathmandu District Administration office said the decision would ease the mobility of general people, and students in particular to attend examinations conducted by the Tribhuvan University and the Public Service Commission.
