Country records 2,626 new COVID cases with 20 deaths

Kathmandu: The country has witnessed a total of 2,626 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The death toll from the infection was reported 20 in the period.


According to the Ministry of Health and Population, with today’s data, the total caseload across the country so far has jumped to 670,857.


Total 11,748 total tests (RT PCR 7259 and Antigen 4489) were conducted in the past 24 hours. With this, the total test count has so far reached 3,521,376, including 3,336,946 RT PCR and 184430 Antigen.


According to MoHP, 4,348 recovered in the past 24 hours while total recoveries out of the confirmed cases so far are 592,535, which is 93 percent. Likewise, the case fatality rate as informed is 1.5 percent. As many as 9,071 infected have succumbed to coronavirus in Nepal.


Of the total active cases updated, Kathmandu holds the highest number of 4,573 followed by Lalitpur (2107) and Bhaktapur (1,650).


As of today, the total number of people vaccinated is 2,599,553 with the first dose and 754,542 with the second dose.
