‘Belief in the government pivotal for prevention and control of coronavirus’

March 6, 2020:Coronavirus is turning out to be a global epidemic. Nearly 3400 people across the world have died due to the virus, and more than 90 thousand people worldwide remain infected. The coronavirus outbreak, which started in the Chinese city of Wuhan last December, has spread to as many as 75 countries. At a time when every country is fearful of the prospect of an outbreak, China offers a glimmer of hope in its control and prevention.

China, despite its huge population, has managed to bring down the scale of the outbreak. Its efforts have been widely praised, even by international organizations like WHO.

In an exclusive interview with Radio Nepal, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi said China wanted to see Nepal remain free of coronavirus.

Ambassador Yanqi said belief in the government was pivotal for the prevention and control of coronavirus, adding that the Nepali government had been taking a lot of important steps to prevent the outbreak.

Chinese Ambassador Yanqi also said that China was ready to provide whatever assistance Nepal needed for preventing and controlling the coronavirus outbreak

Saying that the Chinese government has always prioritized people’s wellbeing over economic growth, Ambassador Yanqi said that Nepal should also prioritize public health even by holding back the national campaign of ” Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali”

Ambassador Yanqi also informed that more than 50,000 coronavirus patients had returned home after fully recovering from coronavirus.
