International Workshop on Dignified Menstruation

The government will be hosting an International Conference on Dignified Menstruation with the objective of enhancing public awareness to stop harmful practices related to menstruation.

The event will be held in Kathmandu from coming May 26 to 28. Minister for Women, Children and Elderly Citizens Parbat Gurung at the meeting of Women and Social Development Committee of the House of Representatives informed that
the efforts were being made to stop harmful practices and to correct them.

On the occasion, the Committee directed the government to take severe steps to abolish the harmful practices related to Chhaupadi practice.
