Solar energy improves service delivery system

December 21 : The Nalgad municipality in Jajarkot has ensured solar energy facility in those health facilitieis with no access to electricity as the local government seeks to make health services there effective.

Health institutions at ward no 3, 7 and 12 have now access to solar energy which has made the operation of maternity and pathology services easier, said Aaulgutta-based health institution’s Sumina Chand. With the availability of solar energy, there is improvement in the service delivery system, it is said. In lack of electricity, health facilities here were taking help of mobile phone, torch and traditional lamps to render services.

According to municipality chief administrative officer Surendra Singh, during the first phase, health institutes in Dandagaun, Dalli and Aulgutta were connected with solar energy and it will be extended to other areas as well gradually.

Similarly, with the financial support of Federal Government, works have begun to construct a new building for providing services at ward no 1,4,5,6,9,10 and 12 inside the municipality, said mayor Tek Bahadur Rawal.
