President Bhandari returns home wrapping up her State visit to Manmar and official visit to Japan

Kathmandu, Oct. 24: President Bidya Devi Bhandari returned home yesterday after wrapping up her a state visit to Myanmar and an official visit to Japan.

At a news conference organised at Tribhuvan International Airport yesterday to inform about the president’s visit, Minister for Home Affairs, Ram Bahadur Thapa, said President Bhandari’s visit has helped further strengthen Nepal’s relations with Myanmar and Japan. ome Minister Thapa informed that during her Japan visit, President Bhandari attended Japan’s Emperor Naruhito’s coronation ceremony on October 22. On the occasion, she thanked the Government of Japan, offered congratulations and extended best wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity to the Government of Japan and its citizens.

Home Minister Thapa said that President Bhandari highlighted the steps taken by the government to make a clear policy and create an investment-friendly environment in order to materialise country’s goals of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’.

Likewise, she expected help from the Government of Japan and its citizens to make Visit Nepal Year, 2020 a success. She also requested high-level participation from Japan in the Sagarmatha Dialogue scheduled to take place in Nepal in April 2020 wherein the countries from South Asia and beyond will discuss contemporary global issues, including climate change.

On October 16, President Bhandari embarked on her five-day state visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the friendly invitation of her Burmese counterpart Win Myint.
