Finland and United Arab Emirates Show Commitment in Socio-economic Development
September 24 : Finland and United Arab Emirates (UAE) have pledged to assist socio-economic development of Nepal.
The commitments were made by the ministers of Finland and UAE. in separate meetings with Minster for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, who is currently in US to attend the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
On the occasion, Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Finland Ville Skinnari and UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Bin Mohammad Gargash made the commitment for cooperation. In a meeting with the Finnish Minister, matters concerning bilateral relations and mutual interests and benefits were discussed.
Likewise, the high level officials of the United Nations (UN) have appreciated Nepal’s contribution to the global peace-building missions through UN peacekeeping force.
In the separate courtesy meetings with Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali in New York on Monday, Under Secretary General at UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix and Under Secretary General at UN Department of Operational Support Atul Khare appreciated bravery, professionalism and honesty of Nepali peacekeeping forces.
